Prediction markets make Real Betis 64% favorites against Osasuna, but their run of tight league results leaves Ante Budimir's penalty-area threat an important complication.

Betis return from the international break third in La Liga, with 16 points from seven games.
Their position has been built on finding an edge in close matches rather than overwhelming opponents: four of their five league wins have finished 1-0.
Manuel Pellegrini needs his side to create enough at one end without giving Luis Miguel Ramis' striker the chance to change the game at the other.

Betis' stronger start supports clear favoritism. They have twice as many points as Osasuna and have shown that they can convert narrow advantages into results. Their recent league sequence includes wins over Real Madrid, Villarreal and Getafe before a 1-1 draw at Deportivo.
Still, nine goals in seven league games is not the scoring record of a side routinely removing the contest early. If Betis spend long periods trying to open a crowded defense, a single Osasuna chance could carry considerable weight.
The visitors' recent defending is the stronger reason to question their resistance. A 4-0 defeat at Atlético Madrid preceded their 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano. Adding defenders is not sufficient if the midfield allows opponents time to choose the final pass.
The main uncertainty is Osasuna's attacking support around Budimir. Can Ramis put enough players near him to threaten Betis without weakening the defensive structure needed to stay in the game?
Real Betis vs Osasuna odds
Real Betis win — 64%
Draw — 22%
Osasuna win — 16%
Betis are strong favorites, but the draw remains materially more prominent than an Osasuna win. That distinction matters in a matchup where the home side have repeatedly won by a single goal and the visitors rely heavily on one scorer.
The market allows for resistance without treating Osasuna as equally equipped to take all three points.
The last league XI, at Deportivo, included Bartra and Natan in defense, Marc Roca, Pablo Fornals and Nelson Deossa in midfield, and Antony, Cucho Hernández and Abde Ezzalzouli in attack. That supports a 4-3-3 projection with Roca protecting the center and the two other midfielders able to advance.
Pellegrini used a different balance against Getafe, with Isco behind Troy Parrott. The choice here is whether to preserve the three-man midfield or introduce more occupation between Osasuna's lines. Ceballos' readiness adds another way to change the passing rhythm.
Osasuna team news
Ramis used a 5-4-1 against Rayo, including Asier Osambela at right center back and Unai Santos on the left of the central three. Local reporting on those selections makes an important distinction: Osambela and Santos earned those places ahead of more established defensive options. Reputation alone does not establish Sunday's starters.
Friday's training update has Romain Del Castillo absent with an adductor injury and Kike Barja working individually. Raúl Moro and Jorge Herrando remain in rehabilitation, alongside Asier Bonel. Budimir had rejoined the group after international duty on Thursday.
The wide positions are therefore a live selection issue. Jonathan Dubasin offers an alternative if Barja is not ready, while Rubén García can provide the delivery and support that Budimir needs. The final training session and Ramis' pre-match update will clarify those choices.
Real Betis lineup
Real Betis are likely to line up in a 4-3-3, with Bartra projected to retain his place following Pellegrini's recovery update:
Goalkeeper: Álvaro Valles
Right back: Héctor Bellerín
Right center back: Marc Bartra
Left center back: Natan
Left back: Fran García
Holding midfield: Marc Roca
Right center midfield: Pablo Fornals
Left center midfield: Nelson Deossa
Right wing: Antony
Left wing: Abde Ezzalzouli
Striker: Cucho Hernández
Osasuna lineup
Osasuna are likely to line up in a 5-4-1, with Dubasin projected to start while Barja's fitness remains unresolved:
Can Betis draw a center back out of Osasuna's defensive line?
A back five can protect the width of the penalty area, but it still needs decisions about who follows a player dropping short. Cucho can offer a central reference point while Antony and Abde attack from the sides. Fornals or Deossa arriving into the space behind a defender could make those combinations more difficult to track.
If nobody is drawn out, Betis may have to create the opening through width rather than insist on passing through the middle.
Can Osasuna give Budimir enough service without losing midfield protection?
The Rayo match report describes Osasuna threatening through crosses and set pieces. That is a specific attacking route, and one that does not require them to dominate possession.
But the players delivering those balls must first get forward. If both wide midfielders spend the game covering their wingbacks, Budimir could be left competing for hopeful passes rather than receiving useful service.
Do Betis' wide combinations force Osasuna's midfield to separate?
Antony and Abde can draw attention toward either flank. The supporting fullback then creates a choice: the wide midfielder follows the overlap, or a defender leaves the line to deal with it.
Either movement can create room elsewhere. Betis need to switch play before Osasuna reset, rather than let the visitors defend one side of the field at a time.
Can Betis keep the game controlled after committing players forward?
Their collection of narrow wins shows the importance of small margins. It does not mean every match has been comfortable.
Roca's position behind the attack is significant here. If Betis' advanced midfielders and fullbacks move together, he needs a manageable distance to the center backs. Otherwise Osasuna could reach Budimir and his supporting runners before the defensive shape recovers.
Real Madrid vs Villarreal head-to-head
Madrid won both league meetings in 2025-26: 3-1 at home and 2-0 at Villarreal. Those results support the scale of the home side's advantage, but both clubs now have different coaches. The historical scores cannot establish how Pérez's press will function against Mourinho's team.
This context does not, of course, establish how Ramis' current back five will cope with Pellegrini's selected midfield.
