New England Patriots vs Chicago Bears prediction
Date: Thursday, October 22.
Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Patriots 40%; Bears 61%.
What to watch: Chicago's top-ranked run game against New England's front.
Drake Maye threw three touchdowns without an interception in the win over the Jets. Chicago counters with the league's top rushing offense at 161 yards per game and Caleb Williams, who completed 30 of 36 passes at Atlanta. Montez Sweat is suspended for the Bears. We lean Chicago at home. For New England to pull the upset, Maye has to protect the ball better than the Patriots' minus-6 turnover margin suggests.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs New Orleans Saints prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 9:30 a.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Steelers 57%; Saints 44%.
What to watch: Pittsburgh's ground game against New Orleans' 30th-ranked run defense.
Aaron Rodgers completed 33 of 49 passes with two touchdowns in the win at Tampa Bay. New Orleans allows 29.7 points per game, tied for 30th, and ranks 30th against the run at 138 yards per game. Pittsburgh has been sacked 19 times, tied for 28th, which is the Saints' clearest route to disrupt Rodgers. We give Pittsburgh a slight edge. New Orleans needs Tyler Shough to sustain drives against a Steelers defense tied for fifth in interceptions.
San Francisco 49ers vs Atlanta Falcons prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: 49ers 69%; Falcons 33%.
What to watch: San Francisco's protection for Brock Purdy.
San Francisco scores 30.8 points per game, third in the league, and has allowed only three sacks, the fewest of any team. Brock Purdy is the expected starter, with Christian Kirk (expected back) among his targets. Atlanta ranks fourth against the run and has 15 sacks, but its minus-7 turnover margin ranks 31st. We favor San Francisco. The Falcons' upset route depends on Michael Penix Jr. finishing drives without a giveaway.
Cleveland Browns vs Tennessee Titans prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Browns 54%; Titans 46%.
What to watch: Cleveland's pass rush against Cam Ward.
Cleveland has 19 sacks, second most in the league, and Tennessee averages 14.0 points per game, tied for 31st. Cam Ward completed 11 of 22 passes for 102 yards in the win at Indianapolis, so the Titans have yet to show they can answer that rush. The Browns' own line has allowed 24 sacks, the most in the league, which keeps Deshaun Watson under pressure. We lean Cleveland. Tennessee has to turn that protection problem into stalled drives, since its offense needs the help.
Indianapolis Colts vs Minnesota Vikings prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Colts 30%; Vikings 70%.
What to watch: Minnesota's takeaways against Daniel Jones.
Minnesota allows 12.8 points per game, the fewest in the league, and holds the best turnover margin at plus-6. Colts quarterback Daniel Jones threw two interceptions in the loss to Tennessee, and Indianapolis sits last in turnover margin at minus-8. Kyler Murray is the expected Vikings starter, with Jordan Addison (questionable) and T.J. Hockenson (questionable) both listed. Minnesota gets our pick. Indianapolis stays close only if Jones protects the football and Alec Pierce, expected to return, stretches the defense.
Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Dolphins 33%; Jets 68%.
What to watch: Malik Willis against the Jets' pass rush.
Miami has scored 14.0 points per game, tied for 31st, and has only four sacks, last in the league. Malik Willis is the expected Dolphins starter, which sends him against a Jets defense with 17 sacks, tied for fifth. Geno Smith threw for 252 yards in the loss to New England, and Breece Hall is expected to return. We give the Jets the edge. Miami needs Willis to avoid negative plays, because its own pass rush offers little relief.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Buccaneers 39%; Panthers 62%.
What to watch: Baker Mayfield's return from a thumb injury.
Baker Mayfield, who missed three games with a thumb injury, is expected to return, with rookie Jalon Daniels as the alternative after throwing two interceptions in the loss to Pittsburgh. Carolina scores 29.2 points per game, fourth in the league, while Tampa Bay ranks second against the run at 76 yards per game. We lean Carolina, with Mayfield's grip strength the open question. Tampa Bay's route runs through that run defense making Bryce Young's offense one-dimensional.
Cincinnati Bengals vs Baltimore Ravens prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Bengals 42%; Ravens 58%.
What to watch: Lamar Jackson's return to Baltimore's ground game.
Lamar Jackson is expected to return after Tyler Huntley started the 13-10 loss at Cleveland, and Baltimore ranks third in rushing at 152 yards per game. Joe Burrow is the expected Bengals starter behind a line that has allowed nine sacks, sixth fewest, though Cincinnati's own run game is tied for 27th. We lean Baltimore at home, with Jackson's return the main variable. Cincinnati needs Burrow to win through the air and keep Baltimore's ground game off the field.
New York Giants vs Houston Texans prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Giants 22%; Texans 79%.
What to watch: Houston's run game against the Giants' 29th-ranked run defense.
C.J. Stroud threw for 312 yards in the win over Jacksonville, and Houston's pass rush has 18 sacks, tied for third. Jameis Winston threw two interceptions against New Orleans, and the Giants rank 29th against the run, which sets up David Montgomery (expected back) for Houston. We favor Houston. The Giants' route is a protected Winston and long drives, because the Texans rank third against the run.
Denver Broncos vs Arizona Cardinals prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 4:05 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Broncos 67%; Cardinals 34%.
What to watch: Denver's pass rush against Jacoby Brissett.
Bo Nix passed for 107 yards in the win over Seattle, and Denver ranks 31st in total offense at 252 yards per game. The defense has seven interceptions, tied for second, and 18 sacks, tied for third, against a Cardinals team allowing 29.7 points per game. Jeremiyah Love and James Conner are expected to return for Arizona, and Denver ranks 31st against the run. Denver gets our pick. Arizona's path is to run into that soft front.
Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 4:25 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Packers 53%; Lions 59%.
What to watch: Detroit's pass rush against Jordan Love.
Green Bay leads the league with nine interceptions, and Detroit has 20 sacks, also the league's most. Jared Goff is the expected Lions starter for an offense scoring 32.8 points per game, second best. Jordan Love completed 23 of 41 passes in the win over Dallas, but the Packers' run game is last at 60 yards per game, even with Josh Jacobs expected to return. We give Detroit a narrow edge. Green Bay needs takeaways to create short fields against a Lions defense allowing 29.6 points per game.
Los Angeles Rams vs Las Vegas Raiders prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 4:25 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Rams 68%; Raiders 33%.
What to watch: Matthew Stafford and the Rams' third-ranked offense.
Matthew Stafford completed 25 of 33 passes with two touchdowns against Arizona, and the Rams rank third in total offense at 401 yards per game. Las Vegas allows 134 rushing yards per game, 28th, and 27.0 points per game, 26th. Kirk Cousins threw for 313 yards in the loss to Buffalo, but the Raiders' run game is 30th at 79 yards per game. We favor the Rams. Las Vegas has to get its ground game going to take pressure off Cousins.
Kansas City Chiefs vs Seattle Seahawks prediction
Date: Sunday, October 25.
Kickoff: 8:20 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Chiefs 46%; Seahawks 55%.
What to watch: Kansas City's protection for Patrick Mahomes.
Seattle's Sam Darnold threw 51 passes and two interceptions in the loss at Denver, while Kansas City leads the league in total offense at 414 yards per game. The Seahawks have seven interceptions, tied for second, but the Chiefs have allowed only six sacks, second fewest. Patrick Mahomes threw one interception in the win over the Chargers. We lean Kansas City, a different read than the market's. Seattle needs a cleaner game from Darnold, with Zach Charbonnet expected to return and carry the run game.
Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles prediction
Date: Monday, October 26.
Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Cowboys unavailable; Eagles unavailable.
What to watch: Philadelphia's run game against Dallas' league-worst run defense.
Dallas allows 150 rushing yards per game, the most in the league, and Philadelphia has Saquon Barkley (expected back) in the backfield. The Eagles rank 29th in rushing at 82 yards per game, so his availability shapes their offense. Tanner McKee completed 26 of 45 passes against Carolina with Jalen Hurts on injured reserve. We lean Philadelphia. Dallas has to cut down on the two interceptions Dak Prescott threw in the loss at Green Bay, because its protection, third fewest in sacks allowed, gives him time.
What could change before the Week 7 NFL games?
Pending items include the return of Baker Mayfield for Tampa Bay, Lamar Jackson for Baltimore and Saquon Barkley for Philadelphia, along with the questionable status of Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson for Minnesota. The probabilities above reflect the recorded market snapshot and may change as news develops. Any confirmed kickoff changes will be reflected in the schedule.
