Philadelphia 76ers at Cleveland Cavaliers prediction
- Date: Friday, Nov. 6.
- Tip-off: 7:30 p.m. ET.
- OG win probabilities: 76ers 65%; Cavaliers 36%.
- What to watch: Cleveland's frontcourt availability.
The market gives Philadelphia a 65% chance, with Cleveland at 36%. The case for the 76ers starts with the Cavaliers' injury list. Jarrett Allen and Peyton Watson are questionable on the league's 12:15 a.m. ET report, Tyrese Proctor is also questionable, and Jaylon Tyson and Nae'Qwan Tomlin are out.
Philadelphia has gaps of its own. Dominick Barlow and Ariel Hukporti are out and Adem Bona is doubtful, which leaves the 76ers' reserve frontcourt thin if the game turns physical. Cleveland's route runs through Allen playing, since his presence at the rim and on the glass would test that depth. Whether Allen and Watson take the floor is the largest open question, and both designations can change on game day.
Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles Lakers prediction
- Date: Friday, Nov. 6.
- Tip-off: 10:00 p.m. ET.
- OG win probabilities: Trail Blazers 44%; Lakers 59%.
- What to watch: Portland's guard absences and the Lakers' frontcourt depth.
The market gives the Los Angeles Lakers a 59% chance and the Portland Trail Blazers 44%. Portland lists Ja Morant (left hamstring strain), Shaedon Sharpe (right meniscus surgery) and Vit Krejci (left ankle fracture) as out on the league's 12:15 a.m. ET report, which removes three guards from its group. Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves do not appear on the Lakers' report.
Los Angeles has its own question up front. Sandro Mamukelashvili is questionable with an illness, and Walker Kessler is available with a left finger splint, a designation that does not confirm his role. Adou Thiero came off the injury report after missing the first nine games with a left knee injury, and coach JJ Redick has not announced a role for him. Portland's route depends on its remaining rotation absorbing the guard minutes, and Mamukelashvili's game-day status is the largest uncertainty.
Denver Nuggets vs Indiana Pacers prediction
- Date: Saturday, Nov. 7.
- Tip-off: 5:00 p.m. ET.
- OG win probabilities: Nuggets 72%; Pacers 31%.
- What to watch: Indiana's interior defense against Nikola Jokic.
The market gives Denver a 72% chance and Indiana 31% in Mexico City. Denver's case starts with Jokic, whose early shooting has dipped to 50.4% from the field and 21.9% from three through seven games, compared with 56.9% and 38% last season, according to ESPN. Indiana is without Haliburton (hamstring), and FOX Sports lists Kelly Oubre Jr. as day to day with a calf issue.
The Pacers lost five straight before beating Memphis 107-103, and ESPN reported they had only six players available in a 108-104 loss to Atlanta on Nov. 3. Their credible route runs through Ivica Zubac, who returned to the starting lineup after five games out with a left ankle sprain. Denver's DeMar DeRozan is day to day with a back issue, per FOX Sports, so his status and Oubre's are the largest uncertainties.
Los Angeles Lakers at Detroit Pistons prediction
- Date: Sunday, Nov. 8.
- Tip-off: 6:00 p.m. ET.
- OG win probabilities: Lakers 54%; Pistons 68%.
- What to watch: Detroit's rebounding without Jalen Duren.
Detroit is favored in OG's market. The Pistons get a three-day break before the game, which coach J.B. Bickerstaff called a chance to settle at home. Duren has been out since straining his right hamstring early in the season, and the team said it would re-evaluate him at the two-week mark, which falls close to this game. Detroit has lost the rebounding battle more often without him, with Paul Reed filling the role.
The Lakers' route runs through Doncic, who averages 38.3 points and 8.1 assists this season, and Kessler, who averages 10.5 rebounds, according to The Athletic. Los Angeles plays Friday before traveling to Detroit. Duren's status is the largest uncertainty, and Mamukelashvili's illness is the open item on the Lakers' side.
What could change before the weekend games?
Friday's 12:15 a.m. ET report lists Jarrett Allen (Cleveland) as questionable, Adem Bona (Philadelphia) as doubtful and Sandro Mamukelashvili (Los Angeles Lakers) as questionable. Those designations apply to Friday's games and can change before tip-off. Reports for Saturday and Sunday have not been published. For Saturday, Kelly Oubre Jr. and DeMar DeRozan are listed day to day by FOX Sports. For Sunday, Jalen Duren's re-evaluation is the item to watch.
