Iowa Hawkeyes at Washington Huskies prediction
Date: Friday, October 9.
Kickoff: 9:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Iowa 45%; Washington 56%.
What to watch: How both offenses respond on a short week.
Both teams need a rebound: Iowa lost 31–14 to Ohio State, while Washington fell 25–21 at USC. The Friday turnaround puts an emphasis on clean execution and avoiding possessions lost to penalties or sacks. We give Washington a slight edge at home, but Iowa can keep this close by controlling field position and finishing its scoring opportunities.
Iowa State Cyclones at BYU Cougars prediction
Date: Friday, October 9.
Kickoff: 10:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Iowa State 22%; BYU 80%.
What to watch: Iowa State’s ability to keep the game within one score early.
BYU returns to Provo after a road trip to TCU, with another short turnaround before Friday’s Big 12 game. The Cougars are clear market favorites. Iowa State needs productive early-down plays to avoid chasing the game through obvious passing situations. Our lean is BYU, with the Cyclones needing sustained drives and timely defensive stops to make the fourth quarter competitive.
Indiana Hoosiers at Nebraska Cornhuskers prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: Noon ET.
OG win probabilities: Indiana 75%; Nebraska 26%.
What to watch: Nebraska’s response to Indiana’s rushing attack.
Indiana rushed for 329 yards in its 47–15 win at Rutgers, giving Nebraska a clear priority: prevent the Hoosiers from dictating the game on the ground. If Indiana keeps creating manageable third downs, its offense will be difficult to get off the field. We favor the Hoosiers, while Nebraska needs early run stops to make this a tighter contest.
UCF Knights at Oklahoma State Cowboys prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: Noon ET.
OG win probabilities: UCF 23%; Oklahoma State 78%.
What to watch: Whether UCF can finish drives after surrendering a halftime lead last week.
UCF led Houston 17–0 at halftime before losing, while Oklahoma State comes out of its bye week. That makes sustaining execution across four quarters especially important for the Knights. We lean toward the rested Cowboys at home. UCF needs to convert promising drives into touchdowns and avoid giving Oklahoma State the short fields that could open a decisive gap.
North Carolina Tar Heels at Pittsburgh Panthers prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: Noon ET.
OG win probabilities: North Carolina 39%; Pittsburgh 62%.
What to watch: Pitt’s defense after a narrow road win.
Pitt improved to 5–0 with a 35–33 win at Virginia Tech, but allowing 33 points leaves room for North Carolina to challenge the Panthers. The Tar Heels scored 26 in a loss to Notre Dame and now face another road test. We give Pitt the edge, with third-down stops more important than simply matching North Carolina score for score.
Texas A&M Aggies at Missouri Tigers prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: Noon ET.
OG win probabilities: Unavailable at the time of writing.
What to watch: Texas A&M’s front against Missouri running back Jamal Roberts.
Missouri’s 45–17 win over Florida featured 211 rushing yards and three touchdowns from Jamal Roberts, alongside 340 passing yards from Austin Simmons. Texas A&M needs to limit the run without leaving easy throws behind its linebackers. We give Missouri a slight editorial edge at home after that balanced performance. OG probabilities were unavailable at the time of writing.
South Carolina Gamecocks at Florida Gators prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 12:45 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Unavailable at the time of writing.
What to watch: Whether Florida can get Jadan Baugh back on track.
Florida needs a response after Missouri held Jadan Baugh to 13 yards on 12 carries in a 45–17 defeat. Reestablishing the run would reduce the burden on the passing game and help the Gators sustain drives. We lean toward Florida at home, but South Carolina’s opportunity is to force another one-dimensional performance. OG probabilities were unavailable at the time of writing.
Houston Cougars at Kansas State Wildcats prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Houston 46%; Kansas State 56%.
What to watch: Houston’s start after last week’s comeback.
Houston rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit to beat UCF, but falling behind again would make this trip harder. Kansas State returns from its bye for its Big 12 home opener. We give the Wildcats a narrow edge, while Houston’s comeback offers a reminder that this is unlikely to be settled by the opening few possessions.
Texas Longhorns at Oklahoma Sooners prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Texas 75%; Oklahoma 26%.
What to watch: Pass protection and penalties in the Red River Rivalry.
Texas returns from its bye after a 20–17 win at Tennessee. The Longhorns have the stronger market backing, but a close game would put extra weight on protection breakdowns and penalties that stall drives. We favor Texas, with Oklahoma needing to make the Longhorns earn long scoring drives. This game is at the neutral-site Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
Stanford Cardinal at Notre Dame Fighting Irish prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Stanford 2%; Notre Dame 99%.
What to watch: Stanford’s ball security against Notre Dame’s defense.
Notre Dame beat North Carolina 37–26 and intercepted two passes in the first quarter. Stanford needs to avoid a similar start: early turnovers would make an already difficult road assignment considerably tougher. Our pick is Notre Dame. Stanford’s best route to a competitive game is to protect the ball, extend possessions and prevent the Irish from building an early lead.
Ole Miss Rebels at Vanderbilt Commodores prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Ole Miss 78%; Vanderbilt 23%.
What to watch: Vanderbilt’s ability to stay competitive after halftime.
Vanderbilt returns home after losing 38–14 at Georgia, facing another demanding SEC opponent in Ole Miss. The Commodores need to turn sustained possessions into points and avoid letting the Rebels pull away after the break. We lean toward Ole Miss, but Vanderbilt can make the favorite uncomfortable if it limits explosive plays and keeps the score close into the fourth quarter.
UCLA Bruins at Oregon Ducks prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: UCLA 21%; Oregon 80%.
What to watch: Whether UCLA can carry its road form into Autzen Stadium.
Both teams return from a bye after convincing conference wins: UCLA beat Maryland 54–3, while Oregon won 41–27 at USC. The Bruins have earned a tougher look than their market price alone suggests, but this is a different road challenge. We favor Oregon at home, with UCLA needing to limit explosive gains and keep pace through sustained scoring drives.
Maryland Terrapins at Ohio State Buckeyes prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 4:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Maryland 1%; Ohio State 99%.
What to watch: Maryland’s ability to prevent another early scoring gap.
Ohio State returns home after beating Iowa 31–14, while Maryland’s recent 54–3 loss to UCLA shows how quickly a game can get away from the Terrapins. Maryland needs to protect the ball and avoid repeated three-and-outs that put its defense straight back on the field. We favor Ohio State, while recognizing that even a 99% market price does not guarantee a win.
Tennessee Volunteers at Arkansas Razorbacks prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 4:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Tennessee 84%; Arkansas 17%.
What to watch: Tennessee’s rushing game and Arkansas’s early-down defense.
Tennessee rebounded from its loss to Texas by beating Auburn 24–14. DeSean Bishop’s production on the ground gives the Volunteers a way to sustain drives without depending on big passing plays. We favor Tennessee, but Arkansas can narrow the gap if it stops the run early and forces longer third downs. The road favorite still needs to finish possessions with touchdowns.
LSU Tigers at Kentucky Wildcats prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 7:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: LSU 77%; Kentucky 24%.
What to watch: LSU’s execution away from Baton Rouge.
LSU enters at 4–1, with all four victories coming at home and its only road game ending in defeat at Ole Miss. That makes this trip a useful test of whether the Tigers can carry their home results into conference road games. We lean toward LSU, while Kentucky needs pressure and red-zone stops to keep the favorite from establishing control.
Georgia Bulldogs at Alabama Crimson Tide prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Georgia 49%; Alabama 52%.
What to watch: Whether Georgia can slow Alabama without surrendering big passing plays.
Alabama scored 56 points at Mississippi State, while Georgia beat Vanderbilt 38–14. Little separates these teams in OG’s market, and defensive stops will matter more than either team’s previous scoring total. We give Alabama a slight edge at home. Georgia can reverse that lean if it forces longer drives and prevents the Crimson Tide from turning explosive plays into quick touchdowns.
USC Trojans at Penn State Nittany Lions prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: USC 49%; Penn State 52%.
What to watch: Penn State’s defensive response in its White Out game.
Penn State gave up 506 yards in a 34–13 loss at Northwestern, while USC edged Washington 25–21. The White Out setting adds to the road challenge, but the Nittany Lions need a substantial defensive improvement. We give USC a narrow editorial edge despite Penn State’s slight market lead, with the Trojans’ ability to sustain drives the deciding consideration.
Kansas Jayhawks at Utah Utes prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 10:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Kansas 14%; Utah 87%.
What to watch: Kansas’s ability to sustain drives against a rested Utah team.
Utah returns from its bye at 4–0 after a 31–17 win at Iowa State. The Utes have allowed no more than 17 points in any game this season, making sustained offense the central challenge for Kansas. We favor Utah at home. The Jayhawks need to avoid long stretches without first downs and take advantage of their red-zone opportunities.
Boise State Broncos at Fresno State Bulldogs prediction
Date: Saturday, October 10.
Kickoff: 10:30 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Boise State 68%; Fresno State 35%.
What to watch: Boise State’s ability to interrupt Fresno State’s winning streak.
Fresno State brings a four-game winning streak into this Pac-12 meeting, so Boise State’s road-favorite status comes with a meaningful test. The Bulldogs need to turn home possessions into points and avoid chasing the score late. Our lean is Boise State, but Fresno State’s recent results make this more competitive than a routine favorite-versus-underdog reading would suggest.
What could change before the Week 6 games?
Quarterback availability, offensive line changes and updated injury reports could alter several previews. Wind and rain may also affect outdoor games. The probabilities above reflect the recorded market snapshots and may change as news develops. Check the latest team updates and confirmed kickoff times before each game.
