Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers prediction and odds
The Green Bay Packers are 75% favorites against the Atlanta Falcons, who face a short turnaround after a 34-3 defeat and continuing uncertainty at quarterback.

Neither team played well on Sunday. Green Bay trailed the Jets by 10 in the fourth quarter before escaping 20-17 in overtime. Atlanta committed four turnovers and managed only three points against Carolina.
They'll both hope Thursday night brings the response. The Packers have Jordan Love, home advantage and a defense that found its best pressure when the game tightened. The Falcons need to decide who is healthy enough to lead an offense that has not yet won.

Green Bay has the clear lead. Love remained composed through a difficult game in New York, throwing two touchdowns before the Packers scored the final 13 points.
Christian Watson and Matthew Golden give him vertical and intermediate options, while the defense held the Jets' running backs in check and produced consecutive overtime sacks.
Atlanta is dealing with a more fundamental problem. Cooper Rush started against Carolina, rookie Jack Strand also played and Tua Tagovailoa remained sidelined by an oblique injury.
Michael Penix Jr. was ruled out before the game. Without stability at quarterback, the Falcons have struggled to build around Bijan Robinson.
The Carolina loss became worse through turnovers. Devin Lloyd intercepted two passes, one for a touchdown, and Atlanta could not recover once the score moved beyond one possession.
Green Bay's secondary will attack the same uncertainty if Rush or Strand has to play from behind.
Robinson is the argument for the underdog. He produced 173 scrimmage yards against Pittsburgh in Week 1 and can create efficient offense without requiring the quarterback to hold the ball.
Atlanta needs to feature him as a runner and receiver before Green Bay's pressure package controls long-yardage situations.
The Packers have their own vulnerabilities. They committed 14 accepted penalties against the Jets, produced only 199 yards and lost several offensive players to injury. The short week leaves little recovery time.
Green Bay has more quarterback certainty and more reliable defensive structure. Atlanta can narrow the gap if Tagovailoa returns or Robinson controls the game. On current information, the Packers are the convincing side.
Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers odds
- Green Bay Packers win: 75%
- Atlanta Falcons win: 26%
The market gives Green Bay a three-in-four position despite its uneven Week 2 performance. That reflects the contrast at quarterback as much as the teams' records.
Atlanta's path runs through Robinson, defensive pressure and a low-possession game. If the Falcons have to chase points through an unsettled passing offense, the matchup becomes much harder.

Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers game outlook
Atlanta should make Robinson the center of every early series. Inside zone, outside runs, screens and option routes can force Green Bay to defend him with different personnel. Kyle Pitts can then work behind linebackers stepping toward the run.
The Falcons cannot allow the game to become a conventional dropback contest. Lukas Van Ness, Edgerrin Cooper and Green Bay's front finished strongly against the Jets, while Xavier McKinney can disguise coverage from the back end.
Green Bay will attack Atlanta's quarterback uncertainty by changing the post-snap picture. Rush has experience and can distribute on time, but he lacks the mobility to escape repeated interior pressure. Strand's first professional pass became a pick-six against Carolina.
Love faces a different challenge. Green Bay's offensive line lost Zach Bako-Bewele, Aaron Banks and Donovan Jennings during the Jets game, while receiver Jayden Reed left with a neck injury. Protection and receiver spacing may therefore look different on four days' rest.
Watson becomes even more important if Reed is unavailable. His speed stretches the secondary and created Green Bay's fourth-quarter touchdown. Golden can work the intermediate windows, with the running backs providing checkdowns when Atlanta protects against the deep ball.
A.J. Terrell's shoulder status affects how Atlanta handles those matchups. If he is limited, the Falcons may need more safety help outside, reducing the numbers available against the run.
Team news and injuries
Atlanta Falcons
Rush started Week 2, with Strand also taking snaps. Tagovailoa did not practice last week because of an oblique injury, while Penix was ruled out. Their availability determines the entire offensive plan.
Guard Chris Lindstrom progressed through the concussion protocol before Week 2. Terrell was managing a shoulder injury. Both are high-leverage players against Green Bay's pass rush and receivers.
Robinson remains the offensive focal point. Drake London and Pitts provide the principal receiving options, but Atlanta needs more stable quarterback play to use them consistently.
Green Bay Packers
Love is the confirmed starter and finished Week 2 with 145 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Watson caught four passes for 41 yards and a score, while Golden produced 58 yards.
Reed left with a neck injury. Bako-Bewele sustained a knee injury, Banks injured a toe and Jennings hurt his hand. The compressed week makes each of those statuses especially important.
Defensive tackle Javon Hargrave missed the Jets game with knee and concussion issues. Warren Brinson was also out, while Van Ness returned from the concussion protocol.
Key factors that could decide Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers
Who starts at quarterback for Atlanta?
Tagovailoa, Penix, Rush and Strand represent very different levels of mobility and passing ambition. The market could respond sharply to the final decision.
Can Bijan Robinson control the game?
Atlanta needs Robinson to create first downs and explosive gains without exposing the quarterback. Green Bay held the Jets to 63 rushing yards in Week 2.
How functional is Green Bay's offensive line?
Three linemen left the overtime win with injuries. Atlanta can make this uncomfortable if the Packers have to start an unfamiliar combination.
Does Green Bay eliminate the penalties?
Fourteen accepted penalties nearly wasted an otherwise strong defensive effort. Atlanta needs those free yards to keep the game close.
Can Atlanta prevent the deep ball?
Watson and Golden can punish a secondary forced to focus on Green Bay's underneath game. Terrell's availability is central to that task.
What could move Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers odds before kickoff?
Atlanta's quarterback decision is the largest variable in the entire batch. A healthy Tagovailoa would give the Falcons more passing credibility; another Rush-Strand game would reinforce Green Bay's advantage.
The Packers' short-week injury report carries unusual weight. Reed and the three injured offensive linemen affect how much of Matt LaFleur's normal passing structure is available.
Terrell, Lindstrom and Hargrave are the other names capable of changing important one-on-one matchups before Thursday.
