Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos prediction and injury report
The Seattle Seahawks are 60% favorites against the Denver Broncos, but costly turnovers and a depleted backfield complicate their Thursday night trip.

The Seattle Seahawks have little time to dwell on another game that slipped away. Sunday's 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers left them at 3-2, with mistakes on offense undoing much of their defense's good work.
The Denver Broncos have the same record and a very different feeling after Week 5. They rallied past the Los Angeles Chargers 23-17, leaning on their defense to give a struggling offense the chances it needed.
Now those two patterns collide. Seattle has to stop supplying opponents with short fields; Denver has to show it can move the ball when those opportunities do not arrive.

Seattle's defense gives it a sound starting point. The 49ers scored 32 points on Sunday, but managed only 269 yards, with much of the damage following Seahawks turnovers. Making Denver earn its way down the field should present a harder test for Bo Nix than the short-field opportunities he received against the Chargers.
The concern is whether Sam Darnold and the running backs can protect that advantage. Denver's rush can disrupt the pocket, and Seattle's recent mistakes give the Broncos a specific way to keep this close without asking their offense to become something it has not yet been.
The Seahawks have the stronger outlook if this becomes a game of sustained drives. If sacks and loose balls keep giving Denver possession near scoring range, the home team has already shown it can turn that kind of game in its favor.
Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos odds
Seattle Seahawks win: 60%
Denver Broncos win: 40%
The pricing favors Seattle without making Denver a distant outsider. The Broncos' recent difficulty sustaining offense supports that order, but their ability to create disruption is a meaningful complication for a favorite struggling with ball security.
Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos game outlook
Denver can make Darnold uncomfortable through Nik Bonitto's edge rush and Zach Allen's pressure inside. Bonitto recorded two sacks against the Chargers, while Allen's strip-sack helped change the fourth quarter. Seattle's protection has to give Darnold room to deliver rather than letting pressure turn a passing opportunity into another short field for the opponent.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp offer targets who can help the Seahawks move the chains. Denver's coverage options are less certain after starting cornerbacks Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss missed Sunday. If either remains unavailable, Seattle can test the replacements, although longer routes still require the protection to hold.
At the other end, Nix needs manageable third downs. Denver converted just one of 12 against the Chargers. J.K. Dobbins can help keep the offense out of obvious passing situations, while Evan Engram gives Nix an option underneath. Seattle's interior front poses a problem if those early-down plays leave Denver needing substantial yardage.
The distinction between a productive drive and a flattering scoreboard is particularly useful here. Our guide to NFL statistics explains the measures behind passing, rushing and defensive performance; Denver's Sunday win is a reminder to read those numbers alongside field position.
Team news and injury report
Seattle Seahawks
Mike Macdonald said after Sunday's game that Zach Charbonnet was not expected to return from the physically unable to perform list for Thursday. That remains an expectation rather than a final game-status ruling. Rookie Jadarian Price is also on injured reserve.
Emanuel Wilson and George Holani remain important backfield options. Both lost fumbles against the 49ers, giving Seattle an immediate ball-security problem alongside its reduced depth. Linebacker Drake Thomas hurt his ankle but returned to finish the game.
Denver Broncos
Surtain missed the Chargers game with an ankle injury, while Moss was absent with a rib injury. As of October 12, their availability against Seattle remains unresolved. Their status could substantially change how Denver covers the Seahawks' receivers.
Wide receiver Pat Bryant is on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Sean Payton resumed offensive play-calling against the Chargers after Davis Webb handled that responsibility earlier in the season; Payton had not described the change as permanent when announcing it.
Key factors that could decide Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos
Can Seattle keep Denver's rush from creating short fields?
Darnold needs to get the ball out before the pocket closes around him. Denver does not need repeated explosive offensive drives if pressure produces a fumble or an interception near Seattle's end zone. A punt after a stalled drive can be far less damaging than trying to force a play that is no longer there.
Who covers Smith-Njigba and Kupp if Denver's corners remain out?
The cornerback decisions affect more than the individual matchups. Extra coverage help can reduce the attention Denver gives the run or the number of defenders it sends after Darnold. Seattle can put those choices under pressure, but only if its line gives the routes time to develop.
Can Nix avoid repeated third-and-long situations?
Seattle's Byron Murphy II recorded two sacks against San Francisco. Interior pressure can take away the space Nix needs to step up, making early-down efficiency especially valuable. Denver needs its run game and shorter completions to create more favorable passing situations.
What could move Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos odds?
The availability of Surtain and Moss is the most consequential team-news issue for Denver's defense. Either return would improve its options against Seattle's receivers; continued absences would leave more responsibility with the replacements.
A change to Charbonnet's expected status would alter Seattle's backfield depth. The short turnaround also makes any new offensive-line absence significant for an offense facing Denver's rush.
