Teams on bye: Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings.
Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos prediction
Date: Thursday, October 15.
Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Seahawks 60%; Broncos 40%.
What to watch: Seattle's takeaway defense against Bo Nix's clean pockets.
Seattle's defense is tied for the league lead with seven interceptions, even though Sam Darnold threw two in the 32-29 loss to San Francisco. That ballhawking meets Bo Nix, who has been sacked only six times, but Denver scores just 19.4 points per game. With Zach Charbonnet out, Seattle's run game faces a Broncos defense allowing 145 rushing yards per game. We lean Seattle by a narrow margin. Denver's route is Nix turning clean pockets into touchdowns.
Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 9:30 a.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Texans 43%; Jaguars 58%.
What to watch: Houston's pass rush against Trevor Lawrence.
Trevor Lawrence threw for 331 yards in the Jaguars' 19-17 win over Philadelphia, and Jacksonville allows 14.0 points per game, second fewest in the league. Houston's run game meets a Jaguars front giving up just 64 rushing yards per game, which puts the load on C.J. Stroud. We give Jacksonville a slight edge. Houston needs its pass rush, with 18 sacks, second in the league, to end drives before Lawrence settles in.
Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Bears 63%; Falcons 38%.
What to watch: The Bears' quarterback decision and Atlanta's run defense.
Chicago's quarterback picture is open: Tyson Bagent started last time, while Caleb Williams, questionable with a hamstring injury, is pushing to return. Atlanta has its own question, with Michael Penix Jr. questionable with a rib injury and Tua Tagovailoa the fill-in. The Bears' league-best rushing attack, at 173 yards per game, meets a Falcons run defense allowing 80. We are withholding a firm pick until both quarterback situations are settled. Turnovers, where Chicago sits at minus four, may decide it.
Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Ravens 68%; Browns 34%.
What to watch: Cleveland's protection against Baltimore's pass rush.
Lamar Jackson sat out the win at Atlanta with an ankle sprain, and Tyler Huntley threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns in his place. Cleveland's line has allowed 19 sacks, the most in the league, while Baltimore's rushing attack averages 164 yards. We lean Baltimore, with Huntley the working assumption at quarterback. Cleveland's hopes rest on Deshaun Watson getting time from that line before the Ravens' ground game wears them down.
Tennessee Titans vs Indianapolis Colts prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Titans 26%; Colts 75%.
What to watch: Cam Ward's turnovers against Indianapolis' run defense.
Tennessee is last in the league in scoring at 11.6 points per game, and Cam Ward threw an interception in the 26-3 loss to Houston. Indianapolis allows 27.6 points and 130 rushing yards per game, both bottom-quarter marks, so the Titans have openings if they sustain drives. The Colts score 24.8 per game behind Daniel Jones, but their turnover margin of minus six is the bigger worry. We lean Indianapolis. A Titans upset starts with Ward protecting the football.
New York Jets vs New England Patriots prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Jets 25%; Patriots 76%.
What to watch: Drake Maye against the Jets' pass rush.
Drake Maye threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-17 win over Las Vegas, and now meets a Jets pass rush with 17 sacks, tied for third in the league. New York's offense is the concern, with Geno Smith sacked 16 times and the Jets scoring 18.6 points per game. We favor New England. The Jets' best chance is turning that rush into takeaways, since the Patriots carry a minus-five turnover margin.
New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Saints 50%; Giants 49%.
What to watch: Jameis Winston against New Orleans' defense.
Jameis Winston threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants' 27-27 tie with Washington, and he faces a Saints defense allowing 30.2 points and 149 rushing yards per game. Tyler Shough was intercepted twice while managing 96 yards against Minnesota, and the Giants' defense has six interceptions, tied for third in the league. We lean Giants. The Saints stay in range only if Shough protects the football and their ground game exploits the Giants' run defense, which allows 128 yards a game.
Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Panthers 48%; Eagles 52%.
What to watch: Bryce Young and Carolina's offense coming off a bye.
Carolina comes off a bye averaging 30.2 points per game, fourth in the league, with Bryce Young the quarterback on its depth chart. Philadelphia scores 18.4 per game, and Jalen Hurts completed 21 of 40 passes for 220 yards in the 19-17 loss to Jacksonville. The Eagles have only six sacks, which gives Young time. Carolina gets our pick. Philadelphia has to win with its run game, controlling the clock against a Panthers defense allowing 156 rushing yards per game.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Steelers 58%; Buccaneers 43%.
What to watch: Aaron Rodgers against Tampa Bay's run-stopping front.
Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in Pittsburgh's 34-22 win over Indianapolis. Tampa Bay's strength is stopping the run, where it is second in the league at 73 yards allowed per game, so Rodgers may carry the Steelers' offense. Rookie Jalon Daniels is the expected Buccaneers starter while Baker Mayfield recovers from a dislocated thumb. Tampa Bay has been sacked 17 times, a bottom-quarter total. We favor Pittsburgh. Tampa Bay's run game, averaging 133 yards, has to keep Daniels out of long third downs.
Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 4:05 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Cardinals 15%; Rams 86%.
What to watch: The Rams' league-leading offense against Arizona's defense.
The Rams lead the league in total offense at 417 yards per game, with Matthew Stafford the quarterback on their depth chart, and they face an Arizona defense allowing 32.4 points per game, the most in the league. Jacoby Brissett threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to Detroit, but Arizona gave up 45 points. We favor the Rams. Arizona's path is a shootout, which needs Brissett to stay clean against a Rams rush with seven sacks.
Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 4:25 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Chargers 22%; Chiefs 79%.
What to watch: Justin Herbert's protection against Kansas City's thin pass rush.
Kansas City comes off a bye at 4-0, with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback and an offense averaging 29.5 points per game. Justin Herbert threw for 121 yards and an interception against Denver, and the Chargers have been sacked 17 times, a bottom-quarter total. That line meets a Chiefs pass rush with four sacks, so Herbert may find time. We favor Kansas City. The Chargers have to turn that time into points, since they score only 16.8 per game.
Buffalo Bills vs Las Vegas Raiders prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 4:25 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Bills 71%; Raiders 30%.
What to watch: Buffalo's ground game against Las Vegas' run defense.
Buffalo averages 31.8 points per game, second in the league, behind Josh Allen and a ground game gaining 139 yards per game, and it meets a Las Vegas run defense allowing 141, a bottom-quarter figure. Kirk Cousins threw for 243 yards in the 45-17 loss to New England, and the Raiders' own run game gains just 82 yards per game. We favor Buffalo. Las Vegas needs Cousins to keep pace in a shootout.
Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers prediction
Date: Sunday, October 18.
Kickoff: 8:20 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Cowboys 50%; Packers 51%.
What to watch: Jordan Love against Dallas' sackless, pickless defense.
Jordan Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards in Green Bay's 31-7 win over Chicago, and he meets a Dallas defense with five sacks and no interceptions. The Packers' run game gains only 60 yards per game, but Dallas allows 168 on the ground, the most in the league. Dak Prescott threw two interceptions against Tampa Bay, and CeeDee Lamb is questionable. We lean Green Bay. Dallas stays in it only if Prescott protects the football.
Washington Commanders vs San Francisco 49ers prediction
Date: Monday, October 19.
Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET.
OG win probabilities: Commanders 21%; 49ers 81%.
What to watch: Brock Purdy's protection against Washington's pass rush.
San Francisco has been sacked only three times, the fewest in the league, and Brock Purdy leads an offense scoring 30.8 points per game against a Commanders defense allowing 29.8. Jayden Daniels completed 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards in the 27-27 tie with the Giants. We favor San Francisco. Washington's run game, fifth in the league at 140 yards per game, has to keep Purdy off the field.
What could change before the Week 6 games?
Quarterback decisions remain open for the Bears (Caleb Williams, hamstring), the Ravens (Lamar Jackson, ankle) and the Falcons (Michael Penix Jr., ribs), while Tampa Bay plans to start Jalon Daniels as Baker Mayfield recovers from a thumb injury. The probabilities above reflect the recorded market snapshot and may change as news develops. Any confirmed kickoff changes will be reflected in the schedule.
