Prediction markets make winless Fulham 58% favorites against Hull, but their late collapse at Ipswich raises a clear question about protecting an advantage.

Fulham had opportunities to put their latest game beyond Ipswich. Instead, a lead became another defeat as they conceded in the 88th minute and stoppage time.
That sequence captures the problem for Álvaro Arbeloa: promising passages have not translated into enough points.
Hull arrive with a more convincing start and fresh evidence of their ability to respond when a game turns against them. They recovered to draw with Everton on Sunday.
Home advantage and Fulham's attacking options help explain the favorite's position, but the recent football demands closer examination.

This is clear favoritism, despite Fulham having only two points from six league games. The strongest case for the hosts lies in the opportunities they can create through Oscar Bobb, Alex Iwobi and Josh King, with Gonzalo García offering movement ahead of them.
The Ipswich game saw chances for García and Bobb after Fulham took the lead. The attack did not simply fail to function.
But neither the finishing nor the game management was good enough. Fulham also conceded a late equalizer in their previous league game against Manchester United.
Hull's ability to keep McBurnie involved and introduce fresh attacking options gives the visitors a practical way to test that weakness.
There is a counterweight. Hull allowed Everton dangerous opportunities and contributed to their second goal with a loose pass.
Fulham have openings to exploit if their attackers are more clinical. The decisive question is whether Arbeloa can combine that threat with enough control to resist a direct response.
Fulham vs Hull City odds
Fulham win — 58%
Draw — 24%
Hull City win — 20%
Fulham's win price is 34 percentage points above Hull's.
Home advantage alone is not a sufficient football explanation for such a large gap; the hosts' chance creation and the visitors' defensive openings should also matter.
The draw is only four points above a Hull win. The market recognizes a substantial Fulham advantage while leaving the visitors' attacking route relevant.
Fulham team news
Antonee Robinson missed Ipswich after an ankle problem, with Ryan Sessegnon taking his place at left back. His readiness for Saturday needs a fresh assessment. Kenny Tete returned to the starting XI at right back, replacing Timothy Castagne.
Arbeloa's recent selections establish a 4-2-3-1 rather than an unknown system. David Affengruber and Calvin Bassey started against both United and Ipswich, while Joachim Andersen was among the substitutes. Andersen should not be restored automatically to a projected XI merely because he is the more familiar name.
Sander Berge and Shea Charles have been the central pair, with King between the lines. Hugo Larsson offers an alternative in midfield; Emile Smith Rowe and Rodrigo Muniz give Arbeloa ways to change the attack.
The genuine decision is how much to alter a side that created openings at Ipswich but struggled to finish and then lost control late.
Hull City team news
Sergej Jakirović's latest side used a 5-4-1, with Lewie Coyle and Ryan Giles outside three center backs. Nobel Mendy joined Semi Ajayi and John Egan against Everton, following Lucas Herrington's start in the previous league game.
Mohamed Belloumi was initially rested after international duty, then came off the bench to score the equalizer. That was a workload decision, not evidence that he had lost his place permanently. A full week between games makes his return to the starting side a plausible projection.
Joe Gelhardt scored while starting on the right, with Sorba Thomas on the opposite flank. Belloumi's return therefore creates an actual selection choice.
The projected lineup below retains Thomas' width and puts Belloumi on the right, leaving Gelhardt as an attacking alternative. Matt Crooks and Regan Slater provide the central support behind Oli McBurnie.
Fulham lineup
Fulham are likely to line up in a 4-2-3-1, with Sessegnon retained pending confirmation of Robinson's recovery:
Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno
Right back: Kenny Tete
Right center back: David Affengruber
Left center back: Calvin Bassey
Left back: Ryan Sessegnon
Right holding midfield: Shea Charles
Left holding midfield: Sander Berge
Right wing: Oscar Bobb
No. 10: Josh King
Left wing: Alex Iwobi
Striker: Gonzalo García
Hull City lineup
Hull City are likely to line up in a 5-4-1, with Belloumi projected to return after his substitute appearance against Everton:
Hull's back five can protect the width of the penalty area while their midfield four restricts the first pass into King. Fulham need combinations between Bobb, King and García that move defenders out of line. Repeated early crosses would allow Hull's center backs to defend the sort of delivery their shape is designed to meet.
Will Fulham keep an outlet when Hull push forward?
Retreating at Ipswich allowed the hosts to sustain their late pressure. Fulham face a similar decision here if the game gives them an advantage to protect. Keeping a forward available to receive and hold the ball can be as important as adding another defensive player. The substitutions need to improve the ability to escape, not just increase the numbers behind the ball.
Can McBurnie bring Hull's wide players into the next phase?
McBurnie gives Hull a target when a short buildup becomes difficult. Crooks can support the contest for the second ball, with Belloumi or Thomas receiving the next pass outside. Fulham's midfield pair must stay close enough to the center backs to prevent one longer delivery from taking several players out of the game.
Does Bobb's matchup with Giles produce better final actions?
Bobb has the close control to create room on Fulham's right, but an extra defender can arrive quickly when Hull's left center back moves across. Tete's support and King's positioning determine whether Bobb gets a genuine one-on-one or another crowded touch. The opening at Ipswich ended with a shot over the bar. Creating the space is only half the job.
What could move Fulham vs Hull City odds before kickoff?
Robinson's fitness and Arbeloa's midfield selection are the principal Fulham updates.
For Hull, confirmation of Belloumi's starting role and Jakirović's choice between Gelhardt and Thomas could change the balance between creativity, width and support for McBurnie.
Any shift from the recent back-five structure would also materially alter the spaces Fulham's attacking players can target.
