HOW IT WORKS
This market resolves to “Yes” if any official nominee for the Best Actress award at the 2026 Academy Awards is photographed or broadcast wearing a predominantly red dress on the official red carpet prior to the ceremony. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, a dress is defined as a single, continuous garment designed as a gown or dress, extending from the upper torso downward, and worn as the primary outfit on the red carpet. A dress includes: strapless gowns, long-sleeve gowns, midi-length dresses, mini dresses, one-shoulder gowns, sheer dresses with lining, and high-slit gowns. A dress excludes: two-piece sets (separate top and skirt), suits or tuxedos (even if skirted), jumpsuits, bodysuit and overskirt combinations where pieces are clearly separate, and capes worn over non-dress outfits. A "predominantly red dress" must meet the following criteria: Color: The garment must be a clear, undeniable shade of true red (e.g., crimson, scarlet, ruby, cherry). Shades primarily classified as pink, magenta, burgundy, maroon, coral, or orange will not qualify. Coverage: The fabric of the dress must be visibly solid red. Patterns, florals, ombre gradients, or color-blocked designs where red is simply one of multiple prominent colors do not qualify. Minor non-red accents (e.g., a contrasting belt, metallic sequins, sheer/nude paneling) are acceptable. Consensus: Settlement will be guided by descriptions from major fashion and entertainment Source Agencies. If these sources describe the dress using a non-qualifying shade (e.g., "hot pink gown", "burgundy dress"), or if the color is widely debated, the market resolves to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be the official red carpet broadcast and/or official press photography. The official resolution sources are the agencies listed in RULE 14.67 in the CDNA Rulebook, which can be found here [https://www.nadex.com/rules/]. Liquidity may be low during the event. Trading is temporarily paused during scheduled maintenance periods.
